Microsoft announced AI Performance reporting inside Bing Webmaster Tools allowing publishers to track how often their content is cited inside AI-generated answers.
For most marketers, this is just another feature update.
For me, it felt different.
It felt like validation.
Back in November 2024, I started going deep into AI Search. At that time, conversations around citations, AI visibility, and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) were niche. Most discussions were still around rankings and traffic.
But something was clearly shifting.
Search was no longer just about ranking pages.
It was about being selected as an answer.
Now, with AI citation reporting becoming visible, the industry is starting to talk about what we’ve been building toward for over a year.
How This Has Shaped My Journey
When we announced DareAISearch exactly a year ago, the vision was simple but bold:

At that time:
There were no structured AI visibility metrics.

Today:
